THE FIRST MOST IMPORTANT STEP TO INNOVATION

before we can build the world we want to live in, we have to imagine it.
lars, this is a quote by simon shinek!?
exactly.
why are you posting it?!
it's about the first step to take when you want to build innovations!
i can't repeat often enough how important that is.
instead of producing paper ad business plans...
we have to jointly shape a visual together with the team...
working on the new product or service.
clarity!
but lars, shouldn't we start with the requirements and a concept?
absolutely not!
the first thing you have to build is a joint vision.
but my team said they had understood it?
nope. believe me, every body has a totally different...
understanding of it...
even if they say they are aligned.
lars, i understand but how do you do that...
just ask every body to make a first sketch.
no designer skills needed ;-)
you know what will happen when all the sketches are lying next to each other?
everybody...
will be totally surprised how different the common understanding was.
lars, but then i will have 10 different visions?!
you can have a voting in less than 2 minutes.
No items found.
and then iterate the top 3 sketches...
until they are so good that a designer can do a first...
design?!
yes & no.
that's just a first visual. again. no need for perfection.
but from there you can iterate much more easily together with your team!
and never forget your goal:
got to market as quickly as possible and don't discuss all the details.
but don't you need much more time for something like that?!
yes & no.
we build product visions and test them on the market within one week.
but how is that possible? normally you need several months for that.
focus!
we focus on the weekly goal and set clear deadlines. in this way, we avoid over perfectionism, which is very common otherwise.
this means you start with the end in mind by building a product vision within the innoweek??
exactly.
ok, that sounds crazy!?
it's different but so much more effective!
you may give it a try!
it's your choice;-)
lars do you have more tips like that?
you want deeper insights?
just follow or take part in the next event.
