It's said they will become innovative...

Nope. At least not in our company....
We had the opposite effect...
People became so relaxed...
That we had almost no output anymore!
Even worse....
People focused on their own topics and
even started to work on stuff that...
had nothing to do with our company
,, Lars, isn't it great to see people being creative?"
Not if it's only for their own purpose.
or for their own purse.
people even told me: " Lars, i can do what i want, you'll never fire us!"

Nothing. I was told to tolerate and soon we will thrive....

Nope.
We tried this kind of leadership for a few years...
and finally gave up.
because people did not become more innovative
or more intrinsically motivated
or more team orientated
overall and highly abstracted
we experienced a culture of....
a gentle recreational attitude
people said, come to granny, there you can relax
,, Lars, sounds great to me?!"
No it's not!
And i will tell you why
First fact, you'll lose the high performers....
that really want to actively shape the future
and you can't make any profit
which is probably not so bad at all if your job is still fun, but
in the end you earn peanuts and can pay peanuts
and this way the downward spiral begins
,, Lars, what have you done to solve it?"
Actually i can't tell you in a short story, but...
Did i mention that there's an astonishing greaaat book out there?
